Realistic recreation of directional characteristics of musical instruments in virtual reality

For my bachelor thesis I recreated the directional characteristics of two different Instruments in VR. As a real instrument does, I wanted the VR model to emit slighty differerent frequencies depending on the listener position. I took data gathered by the SEACEN project (RWTH Aachen and TU Berlin) and developped three models with different depth of detail. Then I organized a hearing test with around 30 participants to determine which model works best.
